Volunteer

We are a volunteer-powered, non-profit organization inspired by the joy of historic preservation and the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. We are always seeking volunteers in the following areas:

Docent: Lead guided tours of the Laurent House.

Docent Assistant: Assist the docent in his/her tour and help with the needs of our guests.

Museum Store: Greet guests, act as cashier, and provide general help in the store. Retail experience is helpful but not necessary.

Building & Grounds: Make sure our house and grounds look spectacular for each tour. Tasks include pulling weeds, planting flowers, washing windows, blowing leaves, and sweeping off the driveway and terrace.

Archives: Help with sorting, cataloging, caring for, and properly storing our archival collections.

Our tour season runs from early April to the end of December with public tours held each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and with private and group tours held by request. We offer a flexible schedule with a suggested time commitment of 8 to 15 hours per month.

If you would like to join a close knit group of volunteers who are passionate about serving the public, historic preservation, architecture, and honoring the Laurents, please send an e-mail with your area of volunteer interest to [email protected].
