The Laurent House Visitor Center will again be a host venue for Art Scene on Friday and Saturday evenings, April 25 & 26. It’s the one time a year where the Laurent House is open for tours by donation, with a suggested donation of $5-$10 per person. Stay tuned as we work to line up our artists for the weekend!

Master storyteller Timothy Totten takes you on a whirlwind tour of the life and work of America’s most famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. With insightful architectural analysis, hundreds of photos and dozens of intimate stories, Totten weaves a tale of love, murder, and the Emperor of Japan to illustrate the genius and personal foibles of the man the American Institute of Architects has called “The Greatest American Architect.”

Based in Florida, Timothy Totten is a master storyteller specializing in the life and work of famed American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Totten has studied the subject for more than 35 years and shares his unique presentations with audiences at museums, libraries, universities, and Wright sites across the country.

english high tea

Saturday, may 10 / 10 am-noon

 

Join us for a traditional English high tea in celebration of spring and Mother’s Day!  Set in the cove, dining, and garden rooms of the Laurent House, guests will savor a selection of fine loose-leaf teas paired with an artfully arranged assortment of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with lemon curd and preserves, and sweet treats. Enjoy the music of local harpist Lois Schlueter while enjoying this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Laurent House as if you were a guest of Phyllis Laurent! Our event will be catered by Tracey Vukalovich of Vintage Goose Café.

June 16-19 (9 am to noon; ages 8-12)

June 23-26 (9 am to noon; ages 8-12)

July 14-17 (9 am to noon; ages 12-16)

July 21-24 (9 am to noon; ages 8-12)

 

Does your child like to design, create, and build? Sign them up for the 2025 Laurent House Summer Camp! The Laurent House is offering summer arts programming for the sixth consecutive summer for students ages 8 to16. Students will explore art, design, and architecture with hands-on construction and art-related materials, and learn how nature inspired Mr. Wright’s visionary work, including the beautiful, unique Laurent House.

Each class will be taught by Betsy Anderson, Director of Education and Community Engagement for the Laurent House, and an art educator with over 20 years of experience.
